We hope our performances brought a moment of comfort and joy.  <br><br> This project hosts vibrant collaborations between experimental and forward-thinking young artists, and aims to facilitate a dialogue between LA’s many diverse cultures and communities, as well as tradition and contemporary life.<br><br> The video clips will include Contemporary Korean Dance 'Balnorum', Pansori with Explanation 'Excerpts from Chunhyang-Ga' with traditional African instrument Djembe, 'Seoljanggu dance', Contemporary Western African Dance 'Segbo/Encounter', and the performance will end with 'Jindo Ssitgim gut: COVID-19 cleansing ritual'.<br><br> Ssitgim, which is a gut, or, shamanic ritual that is typical of the Jindo region in South Korea, is named for its purpose of sending off the deceased to the world of the dead, washing them clean of the suffering they were not able to resolve during their lifetime. Jindo Ssitgim Gut is famous for not only consoling the dead but also the living.
