Join us for traditional Korean music and dance, arts and crafts, and more! 2023 Korean Spirits is a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Korean-US alliance and the 120th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States. This event, organized by the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles in collaboration with the Los Angeles Public Library, showcases Korean culture and highlights Korean traditional music and dance.
Three Korean Art Groups (Korean Traditional Music Institute of America, Oulim, and Korean Classical Music & Dance Co.) will perform ten traditional Korean music and dance forms, including Gyeonggi Minyo (Central Folk Song 경기민요), Jeongak (Court Music 정악), Gayageum Sanjo (String Solo 가야금 산조), Chunaengmu (Spring Oriole Dance 춘앵무), Korean traditional music ensemble, Samullori (Korean Drum Ensemble with dance 사물놀이), Buchaechum (Fan Dance 부채춤), and Jangguchum (hourglass-shaped drum 장구춤).
All participants will have a chance to get the small sampler of Korean Traditional Dessert such as Yakgwa, rice cakes and so on (while supplies last). You could experience Korean Traditional Tea Culture and K-Food through Cultural Box and Display. Enjoy K-Tea Culture together!
