The Korean Cultural Center, LA proudly presents the 3rd season of the 2016 ARI PROJECT: performing arts series starting this March with a rich program of various genres of performing arts including Korean traditional music and dance, modern fusion world music, as well as theater.
The first performance of the season will be Friday, March 18th with the Gayageum Story presenting at the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles 3rd Fl. Ari Hall.
Gayageum, a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument, with 12 strings, is one of the most popular Korean instruments which is typically played both solo or with an ensemble. Cho Eunjung’s "Gayageum Story" will show the beauty of the Gayageum’s history throughout time by using advanced techniques, strings, and playing styles. She will play 3 different types of Gayaguem and show various techniques.
Cho, Eunjung has performed at UCLA, Cal Arts, Los Angeles County Museum, Fox Performing Arts Center, and many other places. Her degrees include Bachelor and Masters Degree in Gayageum Performance from the DanKook University. She also was a member of the National Orchestra and worked as a Instructor at the University of Arts and at Arts high school in South Korea.
